Outstanding presentation food, ambiance, and service. Impress a date with the shrimp cocktail! Half price appetizers and drinks for happy hour 4:30-6:30, seven days a week (summer only?). We went as a group on a Friday night, first time visiting, and sat inside. FOOD: The shrimp cocktail with dry ice is a cool experience; huge shrimp, excellent quality; the regular cocktail sauce is mild, so ask for some horseradish, which is fresh and spicy. Salt and Pepper Calamari was very tender, as good as it gets. Tuna Tartare Tower- loved it. I don't think any two places make this the same and it was a refreshing change. Oysters Rockefeller - perfect. Warm Goat Cheese - mixed opinions on this, but really only because if you love olives, it's fantastic, and if you don't, you'll wish it were made differently. Served with large crostini's, a good transporter for the dish. Didn't care for the Lobster Bisque, which fortunately our waitress offered to let us taste before ordering. I'm not taking off a star for this or the goat cheese because it's personal preference, not a knock on quality or presentation. SERVICE: Experienced and attentive wait staff and servers were patient and helpful with suggestions. The kind of service you really wish you could get anywhere. Example, the food server offered to come back later with some of our dishes because the table was too small; worked out perfect since it was cold food and we could nosh at a leisurely pace with different foods. AMBIANCE: Updated, classy, clean. Not too crowded. Great place to take a date. MUSIC: Singer started near the time we were leaving, not too loud. KIDS: not recommended, though in the dining room, I'm sure older children would be OK. RECOMMENDED: Happy hour is a great way to try the food and restaurant at a lower price point, otherwise entree, salad and a glass of wine will probably run about $70pp plus tip. PARKING: Valet or free parking in garage OTHER: Walk around Mizner shops before or after

Amazing steak and mushrooms I missed all you can eat stone crab night which is on Tuesdays and of course I missed out which is also only seasonal. The steaks don't come with the mushrooms that's something that I ordered on the side and its not in some cream butter sauce nonsense!

Came here for Father's Day dinner. My husband must've not finalized our Open Table reservation. The hostess was friendly enough...meh... although not very willing initially, she did end up accommodating our party of 5. They have live music on the weekends (piano man on this evening) which is nice but the restaurant is a bit loud and where we were sitting, we couldn't hear any music. Our waiter was courteous but did make us all feel a bit rushed. Service was prompt but I must say that it's a good thing we didn't need anything mid-meal because we only saw our waiter upon ordering dinner and at end. ...hence the minus one. Between the five of us we ordered Ribeye, South African lobster, stone crab, tuna and scallops. It was all good. My personal favorite was the tuna. Some dishes were a bit overpriced as others have written before me but they did serve large portions. Lobster $75. :-0 ouch!!! We enjoyed our meals but nobody came out oohing and aahing. Good food, good service, okay atmosphere, overpriced. We don't have plans on returning.

Service is great and lots of locals come here after work. There's 3hr max parking in garage that's FREE. Also an ice cream shop around corner. Excellent place to come after work! The atmosphere is laid back and the food was ok. I had a wedge salad and the bottom of the lettuce was very watery which calls the dressing to be watery and the salad not to be that great towards the end. The best thing about my dinner was the hot and crispy shrimp that appetizer was very good. The only recommendation I would have is that the Man you have a little bit more variety of entrées.

Best deserts ever!! When we go it's a real treat. The service is great and the atmosphere is so relaxing and romantic. The deserts are so big you will have them for a whole week. And the live music is always beautiful

The service was excellent. Starting with the best items. The Alaskan crab was absolutely delicious not like I have had anywhere other than Alaska. Very meaty and full. My disappointment was that they placed it over the two sides. Not good. The Florida stone crab was not impressive and neither was the mustard sauce (does not compare to joe's in Miami). The salads were ok. The wedge looked pretty similar to Morton's but not as good but better than outback so wedge. The Caesar salad is romaine not cut up with dressing, anchovies, small pieces of garlic toast on it. It was ok but you have to cut it with knife. The desserts. The key lime pie was too tart for me and I usually love tart. The presentation was beautiful. The creme brûlée also looked beautiful and tasted ok but was very watery like a custard sauce. I also enjoyed a cup of hot jasmine green tea w a side of lemon. Excellent!! It was a great dining experience.

All you can eat stone crabs , Mondays Oct 15th till May 15th! So I've recently come here twice in the past 2 weeks and both times I've been very pleased. 1st trip was taking my grandfather out for his 88th birthday. It was a cool night so we sat outside which was nice because it's quieter but your view is of the valet and Ruby Tuesdays. For dinner we shared the tower for 2 and he had the sea bass and I had the grouper. Everything was very good and the service was good so I knew we'd be back. That leads me into trip 2: About 10 days later I see one of my boss's on Sat morning and she asks " What are you doing Monday? " I immediately assume she wants me to take her shift so I tell her I'm busy , then she says something about Truluck's and stone crab and I shout " oh , I'm in!" :-P This time booth inside , noisy but tolerable. At 8pm the place was still packed full of people so the service was a little slow but our waitress was nice. To drink I had a Manhattan which was big and strong and made well but nothing special. Then we all ordered the all you can eat stone crabs claws. It's $79 and includes soup or salad and any one side. I had the lobster bisque and the crab mac, those two items are a meal in themselves. The first plate that came out was a pile of 10 claws medium sized. The next plate was only 6 but these felt like larges. After those 6 I felt like I was going to EXPLODE. I asked our waitress the most anyone ate that night and she pointed to a skinny short man at the table next to us eating a piece of chocolate cake and she told me he had 4 plates. So 28! Talk about a cheat day! Overall it was a fun experience and my boss's bf said he's coming back every Monday but after drinks , tax , tap it's like $130pp so maybe not again for a few weeks.

Has been one of my favorite resturaunts for years. Always great food and service. For my birthday this passed year, my girlfriend and I dined on a Monday night for the all you can eat stone crab (that is all I wanted to do for my bday hahaa) service was extra prompt and very accommodating. Our waitress knew I wanted to stuff my face, so she had the next plate of claws ready for me. The manager was so friendly and even brought me out a plate as well! In total, I ate 32 claws! Crab Mac and cheese and ceasar salad is phenomenal as well to go with their delicious bread. And my gf loves the firecracker shrimp and the carrot cake! Phenomenal all around experience.

Food quality and service are as excellent as the one in Brickell. This location has outdoor seating as well. We called 15 minutes before arriving and were given a table in the back courtyard. The weather was cool for south florida but for a New Yorker, just right. The cold seafood appetizer is a bargain compared to anything you would get in New York and you get stone crabs which are amazing.

This place has changed considerably and this review is based on our most recent experience. Our most recent visit was punctuated by extremely rude service. On top of that our food was poorly prepared and the wine selection is suitable for only those who don't know a Merlot from a Malbec. My recommendation is: Avoid for now. Will update in the future.

The real key to a successful restaurant is management that knows the difference between a complainer and a valid complaint. Not that they should be treated any differently (tough act, tough business) but valid complaints should be addressed a little differently. One of the on-call maters, Bobby, fielded a very small issue that we had in such a gracious manner that his actions made us feel welcome and like valued patrons. He kept an eye on us and made sure that our dining experience was not just a dining experience but also a great experience. At that point, even though the food was outstanding (and the deserts truly out of the park- including a gluten-free option!) it was the kid glove handling that made this particular dining experience special. Thanks Bobby, and everyone at Trulucks.

Everything was amazing. Service was good, food was delicious. Only downside is that the outdoor ventilation could be better. Will definitely be coming back

I came here with a large group of folks based off of the restaurant's good Yelp reviews and wasn't disappointed. There were several other large parties dining that night and the service never suffered. We sat outside and our waiter even turned the heaters on (and off) for us a few times due to the changing weather. The food was delicious and the menu selection extensive. The portion sizes are rather large, I would recommend splitting dishes and trying a few things. I think I would only come here on special occasions as it is very expensive, unless I win the lottery or something. I did manage to leave here with a food coma and an empty wallet. I also appreciated that the restaurant called me the next day to make sure we had a great dinning experience.

I am ambivalent.. Ambience, service, food are all first rate. However, pricey is an understatement. Party of four. We did not try to economize. Steak, stone crab claws, lobster tails, four cocktails, one dessert. After the tip it came out to $250 per couple. Be prepared.

My wife wanted to come back for her birthday after eating here with her friends. I think the Chocolate Box dessert had something to do with it. But she also was very impressed with the seafood. We asked for a small booth for the 2 of us for her birthday and they accommodated. Service was very good, and they gave us plenty of alone time, which was nice for the type of dinner we were having. She had the surf and turf with King Crab, and was ecstatic. They brought her a free chocolate bread pudding for her birthday (which is great), but she had her eyes on the chocolate cake so we got that too - WOW - that is awesome chocolate cake, well worth the calories. I think this will be her favorite seafood restaurant, which is fine with me.

Delish as usual. I love eating here on occasions. Our server Eric was awesome and the food was excellent. Hostess could use some work but I am writing my review based of the great food. Steaks were cooked to perfection, sides were delicious, and seafood was fresh. The stone crab was so sweet and yummy. Cant go wrong with this place. Beautiful ambiance and live music.

Really nice atmosphere. Inside and outside seating. Also seating in the bar area with live music. Our waiter was Paul, he was excellent. He described the menu and types of crab. Helped me find a wine I would like too. Really thoughtful and nice. I hope he's appreciated. The calamari was very good. I had the cold platter for 2. Really is enough food for just one person. Tried the stone crab, I'll take snow crab any day of the week over stone crab. Oysters were good. The chilled shrimp was fine..it was shrimp. But it was served on dry ice that they poured water on. So it was surrounded in vapor which was really cool. Husband had a filet steak with mashed potatoes, was very good. Not the place if your on a schedule and want to get in and out. If you have at least a few hours to sit and enjoy yourselves this is a good place. Little loud though. The food isn't anything extrodinary, but the ambiance and staff was great. We didn't have desert, but man they looked good.

I expected this place to be top notch. It was noisy and the tables were crammed together. The entertainment was OK. A little loud and distracting. Our server brought us our cocktails. They were fine I ordered the sea bass. I was excited to try it as it sounded great. It was very good but it was COLD. Such a disappointment. We ordered the chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. There was no ice cream on the plate and the waiter never came back to see if we needed anything. We made mention of his mistake and he apologized, but this should not happen at this level of restaurant. Overall this restaurant is trying too hard to pack in the people, entertain them with live music, and serve high end food that isn't that special. I think they need to focus on the food and service.

Was very disappointed with our visit yesterday.... The steak we got was ordered medium rare and came out very dry and well done.... We sat directly under a fan, and asked if it could be turned down a little since our son was freezing.... They told us that the table next to us wanted it up, but they could give our son a tablecloth to try to keep him warm.... They didn't offer us a different seating.... Sorry trulucks - but with prices like that it has to be perfect every time... Guess we're not coming back.....

Really nice dinner. Good food, preparation, service and wine. Pricey, but good for a special night out. Oysters, shrimp, Alaskan King Crab leg, Scottish Salmon with Béarnaise. Nice spot for our stay in Boca Ratan, would go again on a special night.

Fabulous! Went on a date Saturday night and stopped in here for dinner before walking over to Ipic. The hostess was very accommodating when I told her we were in a bit of a time crunch before the movie. Service was great, food was amazing, and I will absolutely be back for stone crab season in 2 weeks.

Went here for my 50th birthday dinner with the family. The service was outstanding. The wine selection was ok. The food choices were excellent. I had crab meat cocktail appetizer. It was very good. I had the sea bass for my main. It was good, but not amazing. The desserts were fantastic - - we had a few. Everyone (there were 7 of us) enjoyed their meals. They gave me a birthday card, nice touch (a gift certificate to come back would have been even better). The prices are expensive. But, they are exactly what I anticipate for a restaurant of this type. If I am back in the area, I absolutely would go back again.

Good food and atmosphere. Wife had stone crab platter that was excellent. I had the Miso sea bass. My reference point is the same dish at Tao in Las Vegas, and this one was far inferior - a little burnt tasting. Food on the pricey side. Server was awesome. Hostess was a little rude.

Came here for Valentine's Day. We were quickly seated in a back corner table and our server arrived very quickly greet us. We had the seafood tower for our appetizer which arrived before our cocktails. Seafood tower was super fresh with colossal shrimp and blue crab yum. I had the filet black and blue with shrimp and bernaise on top which was very good and cooked the way I wanted it, surprisingly this gets messed up at many place but not here. It was very good and the mashed potatoes were good too. My date had the miso glazed sea bass. She said it was very good. Service great, food fresh, and what you would expect from Trulucks.

The total package for fine dining - exceptional food with management and staff to match. We arrived early for our table to have a drink at the bar and unwind before dinner but bar was packed due to an AMAZING Friday Happy Hour. The manager noticed my husbands irritation in not being able to order a cocktail, took our drink order and smashed any negativity. Well played. Outstanding menu selections! We chose the Date Night Special Menu for the Caesar Salad first course and Scallops Pontchartrain entree of perfectly cooked very large diver scallops sauced with rich creole crawfish and lump crab. My husband chose Wild Salmon also perfectly cooked and piled with jumbo lump crab topping. Every detail was attended to. Warm bread that was crafted and not just there because it is expected. Vegetables crisp tender. Water refilled. Good timing where we truly enjoyed our evening. I anticipated a birthday candle on top of our dessert selection but my husband was served a special warm chocolate bread pudding with flaming cherries jubilee that was off the chart delicious. Our Date Night Menu Carrot Cake was beautifully boxed to take home. The managers circulated throughout the busy room watching for any detail that needed attention and entire staff performed to a very high standard on a busy night. Could not have been happier with our decision to choose Trulucks. Happy Hour is on radar for next week. As a midnight snack, my husband dug into the carrot cake and it was by far the best we have ever had. The butterscotch sauce (one could drink it, it was UNREAL) and sugared pecans placed in cups gilded the lily. Yum!

Happy Hour! You want to rub elbows with Boca's finest... Head here before 7pm at the bar for half priced top shelf ($7-$9) cocktails and an appetizer menu fit for a seafood king ($5-$9)... 1 Shrimp cocktail ($9) with amazing cocktail sauce, Oysters Rockefeller ($8.50), 1 house made Sangria & 2 Woodbridge Reserve Manhattans later we were ready to hit the main dining room for dinner... Incredible fish selections, however, a bit disappointed they did not have Swordfish. However, I did end up with the Scallops topped with their custom dynamite feature (crab/lobster with a sriracha sauce). A bit too saucy all together but truly a flavorful dish. I wonder if the regular scallop dish would of been this saucy or if the dynamite topping made it this way... Either way, i using the bread to soak up the sauce. My wife and I were surprised by the 3 course "date night" meal for $39. The server didn't force us to order 2. My wife ordered her 3 course meal and i have the aforementioned scallops. Dessert is a beast. Each slice of cake is enough to feed 4. I do love the "chocolate bag." I'll leave it at that... Worth it for the presentation alone!

Very ordinary with extraordinary prices. $50 Ribeye had no flavor at all. Cocktail shrimp tasted like metal. $15 for 1 cocktail. Wouldn't allow a nice leather pair of sandals on a man, but would allow ripped tee-shirts, and casual flip flops for women. Sorry, but any south Florida restaurant that doesn't allow a nice pair of sandals is ridiculous, and the fact that they're hypocritical by allowing women, leaves a worse taste in my mouth than the metallic shrimp.

Was there for business dinners twice last week. Salads, oysters rockefeller, calamari great- stone crabs too (though not my preference). Tuna entry really tasty. King crab bland. Deserts ---carrot cake, chocolate box, key lime = huge portions and delicious. good spot for seafood- bring your appetite

I was treated to dinner last night. Very nice place and our server was great. Now for the food, hence the 3 stars. I'm not a big seafood eater so I ordered the 7oz filet. It was cooked as requested, but had no seasoning at all. I had to literally saw thru the meat. Especially hard to swallow at a $42 price tag.

Lovely dinner. They have a gluten free menu. I had cioppino. Very good but I couldn't find the calamari in it. They have Tito's gf vodka. Really excellent food and service.

This place just does seafood so good! Ive been many times but first time to this location and with friends. Great staff which accommodated our large table of 8 with 4 children. We tried almost all the appetizers and i like the mussels in their bbq shrimp sauce. AAmazing! Lobster bisque was fantastic. seafood linguini was really good too as was the seabass and chilled seafood platter. The seafood just tastes like the sea. Always come back here

Good food , not great. Which cost a star. Great service. Nothing original or unique. Very expensive and not a value for the bux. If you are going there however , do not pass up on the malted choc cake.

Great food, great service! Never leave here disappointed. Stone crabs are delicious here. Came again on Valentine's Day and there were rose petals everywhere, great music, Polaroid keepsake n more. They really went above and beyond when it wasn't expected. Just an overall great establishment.

Trulucks is a competent restaurant with a large menu that emphasizes shellfish. They try hard to present themselves as an upscale independent but it has the scent and feel of a chain with wait staff trained to be friendly to the point of annoyance and clever approaches to padding the bill by a la carte sides and additions to basic dishes that are costly. My sautéed halibut also came with various expensive toppings which our waiter kept pushing us toward. My wife's stone crabs were market priced which turned out to be $60. Really, $60 for a plate of crab claws???? The wine was marked up to an absurd level so we settled for an overpriced glass rather than a bottle. It's very easy to run up a bill close to $100 per person here for food that is average.

Love this place. First time visitors in May 2012 and returned for Thanksgiving a few days ago. Offered a TG meal or we could order from the menu -- you guessed it. We all ordered from the menu. 7 oz filet medium with rice pilaf. Started with a Caesar salad minus the anchovies. We split a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Pork chops, Grouper, Ribeye with mashed potatoes a side of green beans. The chocolate bag is yo die for - just do it. Our waiter was perfect. The GM visited our table and the next day got a follow up phone call to ensure all was to our satisfaction. Yes. Yes. Yes. We will be returning. ;)

OVERPRICED AND UNDER SERVED. I expected a real steakhouse experience but was presented with MEDIOCRE food and the service although polite completely ignored my needs. The bill for two people dinner was $200 absolutely ridiculous and out of line. This stupidest busboy asked us to cut our steaks in half to see if they were done right what kind of steakhouse is this?

The happy hour here is just above and beyond! Until 6:30pm the bar is jamming with awesome music, great atmosphere and best of all, drinks/appetizers half off! We ordered the salmon flatbread, sweet potato fries (3$!!!!!), and shrimp cocktail (HUGE). All were DELICIOUS. The drinks were a joke of a price as well: $4.50 for a vodka cranberry! We then went to sit down for dinner and ordered the king crab legs, hot and spicy trout (amazing) and the blackened grouper! All were to die for. I cannot recommend this place enough, and being in Mizner Park it makes for a great night out!

Amazing date night out for a fancy cuisine and dressy attire. Great seafood!! The stone crab claws with mustard sauce are to die for...along with their oysters and horseradish sauce. The South African lobster tail puts any other lobster tails to shame as you cannot compete with this one as it's about 2 1/2 times the size and taste!! My significant other and I go here for special occasions and always leave with 100% satisfaction and pure happiness!!

First.. I confess I was a steady customer of Trulucks Boca Raton. And I have happily dropped $1,000 s there for several years. In fact, the manager, host(esses) and wait staff as well as a chef or two knows me (so I imagine they may read this!) But since a week or so ago I have become downright disgusted and I recommend you take the option of spending your hard earned money at Chops, or Capital Grill, or even Ruth Chris's or Morton's (as well as others mentioned below) instead of this now out of touch and quickly deprecating restaurant. Problem one.: They RUINED what was one of the best Happy Hours in Boca. Management took two of the most desirable and popular dishes off the menu: the crab cakes and the sliders. Now. there is no meat or even pasta option. (You would think these guys would be smart enough to put substitute meatballs or a pasta dish, but, instead they added another two FISH Iiems: ceviche and bar-b-q shrimp?!) What's more, if you desire a light meat dish to go with your cocktail you can't even "regular order" a basic hamburger.. they just won't cook it for you. Not acceptable. Every restaurant needs something like a basic burger on their menu, right? Problem two: They suddenly shortened the HH hours from 7 to 6:30! And, if you are unfortunate enough not to order by 6:30, they will not budge an inch. The other night two of their season regulars returned to south Florida from NY and showed up at Trulucks at 6:40, unknowledgeable of the new abbreviated hours. These people are season regulars and left, believe me, more than a little perplexed. Problem three: Much of the food is now mediocre. Used to be that Trulucks Boca had steak and seafood that got close to the best in Boca. But, sadly, things have dropped in quality while the competition has increased. Recently had some skirt steak.. (nothing special) and my date had a "special" that consisted of five relatively large scallops and a scant few chopped lobster pieces with bernaise sauce. It was overpriced, not very tasty. So much that I suspect the "scallops" were shark pieces and the meat seemed low quality. There are just too many other excellent options in Boca at this price where you get MORE and higher QUALITY. Many of the other options are excellent new entrants. In addition to the very decent steak/seafood houses mentioned in the first paragraph Boca now has Butcher Block, Abe and Louie's (and until recently Reds).. as well as the consistently excellent NY Prime...where, by the way, I dined last night. Oh.. by the way.. for a great steak house Happy Hour.. cruise a scant 1/2 mile south (5 minutes) and go to Chops... GREAT crab cakes, a super great burger and excellent pours. More consistent and excellent live entertainment also.. now, definitely a step above Trulucks. So, can this Texas based management team "save" their Boca franchise? Yep.. but they have to alter course.. and quick. The staff in the Boca Trulucks is still exceptionally helpful., but they seem to be dealing with management that may be making policy nationwide from their Texas base instead of focusing on each unique market area and catering properly to it. Boca IS different and we have to many other better options. Boca wants service AND value AND quality. Trulucks now only has the first ingredient of a winning formula Unfortunate., only several months ago they had all three components that made up that entire equation.

Stunningly unimpressed. I had high hopes for Truluck's as I'd heard it was a great dining experience. It certainly has the look of one, with its understatedly elegant decor and menu offerings. Unfortunately, my gastronomic experience was quite underwhelming. My friend has to dine early, so we arrived just under 6pm on a Friday night. Happy hour was in full swing in the lounge area, with a boisterous, older crowd (60+ for the most part), but the dining room was empty. Because of this, we were able to request one of the lovely, curved banquettes rather than a table. Our server, a genial young woman, came over and we talked of various things on the menu. We requested black napkins as we both wore black trousers, and ordered drinks (I a Lychee Martini which I liked very much since it was not sweet as I feared it could be), and my friend with food issues, hot water and lemon. At the same time, we ordered half a dozen oysters on the half shell to start. After a few minutes had passed, my friend corralled a passing bus person for her water with lemon since our server seemed to have forgotten that, and although some more time passed, the oysters beat my drink to the table, which felt wrong. We also didn't have the correct plates for the oysters before they arrived. Since the restaurant was so empty, we didn't understand the lack of proper progression. We had to ask our server for the black napkins a second time as when she came to deliver the plates and my drink, she did not have them. Our oysters looked plump and inviting on their ice filled tray, but my friend, who was first in trying one, didn't like it at all. She said it wasn't cold, and tasted rather unpleasant. I can't deny that I did not care for them myself, finding them only briny without much other flavor . The server told us they were from the West Coast when we asked. We were sorry we didn't order the lump crab cake in retrospect. After some discussion with our server and her hearty recommendation, I decided on a splurge, going with the South African Lobster Tail (MP $75.00 for 10-12 oz with two sides). I chose asparagus with a side of Hollandaise sauce, and the Parmesan mashed potatoes. My friend chose plain grilled seabass and green beans. She'd brought her own sweet potato which she'd called ahead to see if they could prepare. They told her it wasn't a problem. When it arrived along with her fish, it was almost as hard as a rock, having been over-cooked in the microwave, and was virtually dried out inside. We mentioned it to our server, who had the manager come over. He apologized that they'd ruined her potato and graciously offered a substitute or a complimentary cocktail, which my friend declined. I was excited when my lobster arrived as it was quite a nice portion, served out of the shell which sat beneath it, but still attached at the very bottom of the tail. However, I found it quite tough and had to saw at it with my serrated knife quite briskly. The flavor was, to me, not as good as Maine Lobster and rather tasteless. The texture was more than chewy. The asparagus was undercooked (I like "al dente" but this was closer to virtually uncooked). The mashed potatoes were good, but should not have been the highlight of the dish! We were not interested in coffee or dessert, so I can not comment on those. I feel certain that Truluck's has many delicious dishes on their menu, and realize that just because this particular experience was underwhelming, doesn't mean a future one might not be quite wonderful, but I have to admit, I am uninterested in finding out. There are too many other restaurants out there to try. I hope your dining experience here will be a great one!

Went with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. We made reservations ahead of time requesting 7pm but having to take 615 due to lack of availability. This was our first time dining here and came because of rave reviews from friends. We started with the seafood appetizer for two adding a King Crab leg. The server informed us that normally it came with 2 medium stone crab claws but tonight they were using large. Ours came without any. When they came to pick up the empty plates we asked about the missing claws. The waitress apologized and brought us the two smallest crab claws I've ever seen. For a side for dinner we ordered creamed spinach. They brought creamed corn which my wife doesn't eat. When we were almost done the server returned asking how we were enjoying and we mentioned the wrong side dish. She apologized and explained the creamed spinach would take awhile to prepare. They brought a pretty dessert for our anniversary and walked away not asking if we wanted coffee or anything else. We did but were never given the chance to order. The next time she came it was with a smile, telling us she hoped we enjoyed and the manager took off $3 for the creamed corn and gave me the check. Overall the food was decent with service that was less than stellar. I've had much better for less money. As for our 615 reservations, the place was fairly empty until after well after 7 so I'm unsure why I couldn't have been seated at 7.

Last night was the perfect night to sit outside in 60 degrees weather. Service is always outstanding. They have amazing Apple cinnamon bread they start you off with .The food was great - for apps had some oysters, spicy shrimp and oysters rockefeller. For main course we had the sea bass and the sesame tuna which I always get very rare. We really like their crab fried rice as a side . I would go back but the only reason for 4 stars is that there are other places to check out for $160 bucks with tip -but I never mind paying for good food.

We were in the mood for seafood and were not disappointed with our dinner at Trulucks! Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Stacy, the general manager, who brought us to our outdoor table and promised that "Bill would take good care of us." Bill sure did. His upbeat and positive personality, especially late in the dinner service, was refreshing. He was immensely knowledgable about the menu and took good care to keep our waters filled and let us know when our appetizer and entrees would be ready. We ordered the jumbo lump crab cake as our appetizer. My wife and I have never enjoyed a better crab cake. It was sufficient for two to share (two to three bites each) and was chock full of...wait for it...CRAB! No filler, just crab. It was incredible. For dinner, my wife had the sesame-seared tuna (cooked rare) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I asked Bill for his recommendation, and he suggested the miso-glazed sea bass. It was the best seafood dish I have enjoyed in a very long time. Cooked perfectly, with wonderful favors from the sea bass, the bed of crab-fried rice it was served on, and a tasty cucumber slaw. Thanks to Bill and a talented kitchen staff, we enjoyed a marvelous dinner at Trulucks and will visit again very soon!

Delightful. My husband and I came late on a Monday night for all you can eat stone crab. You get a soup or salad and a side. We started with the fork and knife Caesar salad, (it was like a whole head of romaine lettuce) which was good, but a lot of work (as the name implies); my husband had the lobster bisque, which was creamy, delicious and had actual chunks of lobster in it. The stone crab was amazing (of course). For sides, we had the parmesan mashed potatoes (yum) and the crab mac and cheese (also yum). Our server was outstanding, and I know we'll be back again.

I love trulucks! The bartenders are very attentive and the food is expensive but great. I will say that I didn't like the lob bisque. The presentation was great but the soup wasn't as flavorful you would think.

My husband and I dined at Truluck's this weekend and had an excellent time. The happy hour was fun, exciting and a good value. The service was great and the food was incredible. Our server brought out a special dessert for my husbands birthday. I don't remember his name, but he had a mustache and really nice hair. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Excellent dinner in Boca Raton. I really enjoyed the stone crabs here and they are as good as Joe's in Miami Beach. The calamari was outstanding and the trout were very good. My only complaint was the desert selections were not that good on the night I was there. There is almost always live music here on the weekends.

When I first went there, we brought our favorite bottle of wine from California where we are originally from, after having our wine and a delicious fish and yummy crab fried rice, our server told us that by law we are not allowed to bring our own wine to the restaurant, it left us a bad taste and I googled and there's no such a law!! so I called the other location on Fort Lauderdale, and asked the lady if we can bring our own wine, she told me "the restaurant" doesn't allow customers to bring their own wine, ok so it's not "by law"!! After this incident, we stopped coming here for a while even though we love the food... few months later we came back for the stone crab season and we discovered all you can eat stone crab claws Monday, so we started coming here again every Monday when we are in town. Last night we came here for all you can eat stone crab and I ordered my usual and favorite crab fried rice as my side, usually I won't be able to finish this side so I have them wrap it up so I can enjoy this later on at home, but last night after one of the server helper asked me if we wanted her to wrap our sides, I said ok, then our server comes to us and looks at me with an attitude saying "don't you wanna wrap these sides up do you?" we said "yes, we've already told the other girl", then our server goes "technically you are not allowed to take sides to go"... we were stunned, we have taken the sides home before, no one told me we can't, and we come here every monday and other nights, spending quite few dollars, this place is not cheap, all you can eat stone crab is not $20/person, it's $79 something dollar and she tells me we can't take our sides home?! After that her attitude changed and she made us very uncomfortable... I don't think we won't be back here for a while again... too bad we love the food here but the restaurant policy not so good...

Dinner was fantastic from start to finish. Trulucks is our destination for seafood. We started with stone crabs and beef carpaccio. For our main course we had Chilean Sea bass and seared tuna with a light wasabe. For a side we got the crab topped macaroni and cheese which could have been it's own delectable meal alone. Everything was perfectly prepared and not over salted which I appreciate. For dessert we had a coconut custard to die for. It's an expensive meal and worth every penny.

A BOCA MUST. I have yet to give any restaurant a 5 star rating until now. Although it is expensive there aren't any restaurants that have me day dreaming about their establishment. Seafood is outstanding, steaks, salads sides all of it. Great sophisticated steakhouse ambience inside but more importantly tons of outdoor seating. In the 4 years we've been going, we never had bad service. I dont care how full or healthy you are, get the Chocolate bag! IT. IS. INSANE. Save up and go for a special occasion!

I love the fact that this place is sustainable when it comes to their seafood, it makes it so much more worth eating there. I think this is a very elegant and sophisticated place, I really have enjoyed coming here each time!!!! A great place for stone crab and other seafood. I was really happy that they had my favorite wine on their menu, I think it was either a vouvray or chanin blanc but regardless those two are not very common to see. My one complaint was that it was FREEEEEZING inside, but luckily I brought a sweater!

The atmosphere is beautiful, and we were seated right away without reservations. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Now to the reason I'm giving this particular Truluck's location 2 stars....I will first start off by saying that I have been to other Truluck locations in & out of the state of FL. This was my first time & last time at the Boca location. To start, my boyfriend and I ordered the hot & crunchy shrimp appetizer which was very good. For our entree's, we both ordered the center-cut filet's....which were AWFUL. I've had filet mignon many, many times cooked various ways, at many different restaurants including other Truluck's locations (which is why I ordered it here). Both of our filet's came to the table burnt...by looks & taste. It was very over cooked. I took one bite & sent it back...and I rarely send food back because I hate doing that, but I just couldn't eat another bite...especially for the fact that for a $46 filet, you best believe it better be halfway decent at least. My boyfriend didn't like his either, but he put up with it because we felt bad enough for sending mine back. A woman (not our waitress, so I'm assuming she was management of some type) brought out a new filet to our table and after my boyfriend told her both of ours were burnt, she told us that "we charcoal cook our steaks." Umm...pretty sure there is a difference between charcoal cooked and burnt. Even so, the customer is always right....especially when the customer is the one paying a large amount of money to dine there. The other Truluck's locations "charcoal cook" too, but NEVER have they ever sent out a steak looking or tasting like the ones at this location did. Even with the new filet they brought to me, it was still very dry and burnt. And I ordered my steak medium, so there is no reason on earth why it should've been dry. Medium is the ideal way to have a filet cooked. I didn't bother saying much more after that. At the end of the dinner, our waitress brought us her card and told us next time we come back, she will give us a free dessert....so that would mean that after we were already very dissapointed, we would have to come back another time to eat there...spend another $180...and THEN get a free dessert. Yeah, thanks but no thanks. The next day, my boyfriend decided to call to speak to a manager about our experience. The person who answered the phone said that they would have a manager call him back & took his name and number. We are still waiting on a call back and we're going on day 2....They honestly don't seem like they really care. I already feel bad enough for suggesting for us to come here to eat. It was a waste of money. It wasn't the waitress' fault so we still gave her a $20 tip, it was more of the fact that the cook is lacking on how to cook a steak properly, and the way management handled the whole situation. So, I think it's pretty fair to compare this to its other locations which are BY FAR much better. Needless to say, neither of us left happy or satisfied with our experience at this location and will not return. Very dissapointing.

When I am craving seafood and great service this is my first choice. Consistently delicious and the staff is very welcoming. The manager Ed Tanner is great and the best waitress is Joey. Her recommendations are always good and service is fantastic. Note: all you can eat stone crab is the best! Challenge yourself.

Nice place in beautiful, trendy area of Mizner Park. We ate in the bar area. I guess if we had sat down in the dining room my experience would have been different. My kids got slider burgers that they screwed up. Crab cake was good, not great. Wedge salad and salad w goat cheese were very good. If you spend 125$ for light fare, it should be superior and it just wasn't. Again, if we sat in the dining area and dropped a 100$ per person, it may hit 4 or 5 stars.

not impressed... not blown away... no rush to return.... second thought, don't think I would return; well maybe if someone else was paying or I was invited for a party or something of that nature because I was expecting so much more. Perhaps it was just this location but who knows... I've always heard of Trulucks as a upscale, classy seafood restaurant but the first deception of being an upscale, classy eatery was I don't want to be seated by a hostess chewing gum. It's a turn-off; granted she didn't chew like a cow or have that popping/crackling sound, but it's still "not classy". My second let down, was our waiter/service was slow. Took a long time to get an order in and felt like I spent too much time waiting for a drink refill. When the food was taking exceptionally long I inquired what the holdup was; he was going to check but even though we saw him a helping tables he never let us know. Not to defend any delays or long waits, the restaurant was quite busy that night. Finally the food arrives. Everyone at the table had steak except for me; I went for the scottish salmon béarnaise (salmon topped wiht blue crab, shrimp and béarnaise sauce served with parmesan mashed potatoes). I tasted one of the steaks, not too bad; rather good actually. As for my fish dinner, the words aren't nearly as flattering. Words that come to mind are: bland, let-down, disappointed, dissatisfied, lacking, failure, tears, betrayed, still hungry. Béarnaise sauce is so flavorful so how did my sauce come out so runny and lacking flavor.

Very classical steakhouse. The service is very friendly and attentive but slow. Food was great but not extraordinary especially for the price. I would recommend it for business dinners vs. night with friends that we had. Not enough differentiation from other steakhouses for $150 meal for two.

Date night at trulucks w half off bottles of wine. We did the Claude rafault 2011 Sancerre w the Idaho trout and the hot spicy halibut. Lovely female duo at piano w ballads and white jacket wait staff. Nice. Mike n parents have gone to trulucks for years and it's a tradition to go here. We enjoyed our time together and the meal very much.

The whole family stopped here last evening for father's day and I can say, we had a less than stellar time. We had to sit outside because we didn't have a reservation. No issues there. We were going to head to Mizner and find a place to eat when we got there. Our service was very slow and other tables that arrived later were seemingly getting served a lot quicker. It didn't take too long to get our drinks but every other table in the area got a basket of bread before us, he didn't come back for at least 20-25 minutes to take our order. other tables were getting their 2nd basket of bread.......... not us.............. The food we did get was good, not great. I got the surf and turf which consisted of a 7ox. filet and 1, yes 1, king crab leg for $75. My wife and son got the petit filet and my daughter got the roasted chicken. With the high reviews, I expected the food to be spectacular but it truly tasted almost as good as something I could throw together at home. For me, it surely wasn't worth the $300 (plus tip) for a family of 4.

A good meal! Excellent oysters Rocafeller, and wedge salad. We (two of us) shared the cold seafood platter for four. Even though it was for four, it seemed a bit skimpy, and we finished it easily. The side sauces were obviously homemade and really good, The crab mac and cheese was terrific. Our waiter Mark was entertaining and fun. Overall we had a good time.

Truluck's is a restaurant where everything is BIG. Big food, space, big dessert, big gestures by the wait staff. They mostly back it up with a quality meal and very nice (if a little overbearing) service, but honestly, they're trying too hard to give a "fine dining" experience. But the food's the most important thing at a restaurant, right? Truluck's delivers on that. The oysters were fresh and well-shucked, the lobster bisque was creamy and not too fishy, and the steak was well-cooked (or should I say, medium-rarely-cooked, which is what I ordered). The desserts were to freaking die for--they actually had a completely sugar-free coconut cream pie, which I can't tell you how much I appreciated (I'm eating low-carb right now). And again, the service was friendly and attentive. Maybe it's just my preference, but to me, fine dining is smaller bites of delicious things; local, interesting ingredients; and a more intimate atmosphere. Truluck's feels very corporate, and the servers do things like asking you to cut into your steak in front of them to make sure it's cooked correctly. Hamfisted and inappropriate, if you ask me. But the food won me over in the end. It ain't fancy, but it's tasty.

This place is great. The event staff is great and the service is awesome. I love the food, how dim the lights are. The ambiance is romantic and classy. They really went out of their way to help my husband propose to me on our 3yr anniversary. This place will always have a special place in my heart.

Absolutely love this place! Known for the best stone crabs around! This place is no joke! Serious crab eaters inquire within! Monday night All you can eat stones? What? Out of season they have blue stone crabs! When I go, I only allow Joey (in the lounge) to take care of me. She is the BEST! Impeccable service, anticipates every need and treats you like family.. With this combination, I guarantee you will go home fulfilled!

Eating in Florida is like the endless earlybird special. The prices are good, but the quality of the food is mediocre. It is like a consistent 4...out of 10. You will be despirited, but not poisoned down there Then there are pearls like Trulucks that prove there is good dinner after 5:30 pm. I split the arctic char and tuna with a friend. Both excelled. Arctic Char is a tempermental fish, but it was tender and perfectly flavored and cooked. The tuna was likewise Desserts also seem to be a specialty. They torture you with the selections all on a platter. We split the sugar free(how is that possible) banana cream pie...great pie Good service and wine list as well....Good find after the early bird

just okay. my wife brought up a point that we might be (both food and seafood) snobs as we're from NYC and Boston and we expect great quality food and service - but this place was a total disappointment. i'd give them fewer stars but they credited us for my wife's meal and seemed genuinely disappointed that we were disappointed - so i give them an 'okay'. also - the place seemed like a place to go for a fancy night out - but for people that don't typically go out. pretentious service and overpriced for sure. i wouldn't recommend spending so much money here if you have great taste in fresh seafood and/or you're a real foodie. you'll be disappointed - and out 200 bucks. cheers.

This place turned out to be better than I even expected! They have a killer happy hour menu with 1/2 off on all drinks including top shelf and appetizers. We liked sitting at the bar and the music was pleasant. We ordered the hot & crunchy shrimp and the goat cheese for appetizers. For entree we had the 8oz filet with parmesan mashed potatoes and it was delicious. My only complaint was the dessert selections. They seemed a bit boring after all that great food we just ate, but we ordered the carrot cake and it was very good. We absolutely loved the food. All of it was great. This place is a must if you are in Boca. Bartenders were very nice and attentive. Great restaurant!

Went here on Monday with for all you can eat stone crabs with friends from NY and local. Our waiter Dustin was awesome and very attentive. The bartender made a mean drink and we had a great time. The stone crabs were delicious and fresh and I only tasted the mac and cheese and the mushrooms. The mac and cheese was to die for! We opted out of dessert since we ate too many stone crabs, but it looked yummy. Expensive night but only because we drank a lot. Otherwise, it was worth every cent!

Trulucks delivers on all aspects of an upscale dinner. The prices are higher than average but the food and service are outstanding. From the stone crabs to lobster, the seafood is better than anywhere else. The service is outstanding. Our crab cakes took longer than normal to come out and they were taken off the bill. Definitely a top choice.

For $30 for a piece of fish, it should be pretty darn good. It was a little underwhelming. The decor is great, location, service, etc, but it is a much better place to go for the bar atmosphere or happy hour.

My husband and I were engaged here, so while I am admittedly partial to this place, Truluck's is easily one of my favorite's in Palm Beach county. The bar is a lot of fun if you can score a table there, but the dining room is fine just as well. Service is attentive and on point. The food is great, with enormous side dishes. Plus, they have live music every night. Though the restaurant is on the pricey side, the experience makes it money well spent.

    (5)
  • Lucas C.

It was an overall mediocre experience. I found my lobster (the South African Lobster Tail which they won't hesitate to remind you is the 'Rolls-Royce' of lobster, whatever that means) over cooked. The service was good, but they had some live music that was pretty lame: two vocalists, one of them being a pianist, and the other selecting karaoke tracks. Complimentary bread was fine with the raisin bread feeling somewhat out of place. For appetizers, we ordered the oysters rockefeller and iceberg wedge which were both very good. I'm sure that they offer some great seafood on some nights, but that night I just felt the quality of the food did not match the prices or the service. Overall a pretty 'meh' experience.

On Sunday their cocktail hour runs from 4:30 to 9. Half price on all cocktails and select appetizers. Live piano music from 7 PM on. Great atmosphere, nice people, great bartenders. We drive 15 miles to come here, that's how much we like it. And, we meet a bunch of friends from our city here too. My wife has been to pharmaceutical dinners here, and wasn't impressed with the food, but, that may be a different menu. Go and enjoy. BTW all year Monday ALL YOU CAN EAT STONE CRABS!! [FL crabs during season, Jonah crabs from CA the rest of the year]

Really 3 1/2, but definitely has the ability to rise. I went on a Wednesday night with my mother and brother for a nice dinner. The restaurant located in Misner Plaza is well decorated and upscale. The bar was rather happening for a weeknight, filled with middle aged people trying to unwind. The live music was a nice touch. We sat in the main dining room, in a booth away from the band, but were able to hear it without it being obtrusive. The complimentary bread was delicious. A raisin wheat bread, and small white roll was what I sampled and was pleased with both. The bread basket provided was small but they did refill it upon request. Our waitress was friendly and service was good for the night but not great, and it should be for the prices. Particularly, they were very slow to remove dishes. At one point a table sat down near us but they decided to move tables (hopefully not because of us ;). The staff was much more interested in resetting the rejected table instead of removing our dirty dishes, which took quite a while. That was my only real service complaint of the night, dish removal. Dish removal was again slow after our entrees too, although there seemed to be plenty of staff. The managers did come by to see how we were enjoying ourselves (nice touch) and I did get a telephone call the next day asking about my experience. The food was very good. I started off the with the tomato salad with red onions, bacon and a buttermilk dressing. The tomato was delicious. Very fresh and not mealy in the least. My brother's oyster Rockefeller was the real standout though (and for $18, they should be). They were well seasoned, and buttery. My mother's "knife and fork" Caesar was fine. For my entree I had the miso glazed seabass with crab fried rice. The fish was well cooked, maybe a bit overdone as it was not quite as tender and juicy as other seabass I've had, but was still a very nice and fresh piece of fish. Another minor complaint is that the miso glaze flavor could have been a little more prominent than it was in my opinion and for my taste. The crab fried rice accompanying the seabass was salty and good, but I would have liked a bigger portion of it than what was served, and also would have also liked more chunks of crab meat in there than I found. I also sampled the pan seared halibut. My impression is it was simply seasoned and cooked well. It was a very nice meal, but there is a little room for improvement. I have only been here once, but plan to go back, so all in all a good spot.

Having dinner at Truluck's is truly an amazing experience. Trulucks has the most outstanding food (including its presentation), entertainment, and most of all THE SERVICE. The best waiter by far in the restaurant is Bobby Weinstein. He has the utmost experience, charm, and class--Bobby made our experience at Trulucks more than exceptional, he truly loves what he does. If you have a chance to have a nice dinner out in Boca, I would definitely recommend going to Trulucks, as well as recommending Bobby Weinstein as your waiter--you will love every minute of it!

Went here on a Saturday night and to celebrate my wife's birthday. We used open table to reserve, and noted on the reservation that it was her birthday. Let me just summarize and say we had a fantastic meal with a great server (Michael). It's expensive (we racked up quite a bill). We had 8 p.m. reservations but showed up at 7:45 and easily got a table (even though open table showed none earlier). We started with wine. Extensive list and the cool part is that you can order by sample (2 oz), glass, or bottle. So we each ordered two samples which was a great way to sample more expensive wines. We shared the seafood tower for 2 which was 2 large shrimp, 2 raw oysters, blue crab meat, and 2 jonah crab claws. All very good, although I do have to say the crab claws were small amount of meat. Not sure I would order this again for $29, but very good and fresh. Next was the salad; we split a caesar which had a great dressing and fresh anchovies..very good. More wine, this time by the glass. Then for our entries my wife had the Miso Sea Bass and I had the blackened grouper with spicy creole sauce with crawfish and shrimp on top w/sauteed spinach. We ordered a premium side of Crab Mac and Cheese. Oh My. At this point we are in a food coma, 1.5 hours later. Piano player is playing, so having a really nice time. Once our table is cleared, they brought out a simple but nice touch 'ice cream sandwich' with a candle for my wife's birthday (they remembered this from the open table reservation w/o me saying anything..that was a nice touch). All in all, we had a great meal and look forward to going back. Notes: Mizner now charges parking. $2/hour I believe. Not sure if the garage charges. Valet is $5 in front of Trulucks which is what we did. They have a 'date night' menu that you get an appetizer, 2 dishes, and a shared dessert for $39 each.

Have dined pre-theater here and at their bar. Great friendly service, super fast - amazing drinks (mojitos, martinis, etc.) and superb bar food. Highly recommend. Been told that reservations are highly recommended, and while I've eaten at other Truluck's in Florida - I've not yet eaten in their dining room.

We were staying in Delray Beach and became tired of the crowds and service in restaurants there. Arrived at 7:30 with no reservation. After 10 minute wait we obtain a bar hightop table. Service was excellent, we had two waitresses the entire evening at our side. Atmoshere in the bar was great. I had stone crabs and my wife had trout both enjoyable. Would recommend!!

Atmosphere is perfect. Food is delicious. Service is great and price is at the right value. Yes it is expensive but you don't get all the other things unless you pay for it. Not overpriced. The salmon bernaise is my favorite. Top 5 favorite restaurants. Wednesday nights are half off bottles of wine so make sure to make reservations because it's busy. Plus they called me the next day to ask if my dinning experience was great. YES IT WAS

Food for dinner is great but the Happy Hour Bar specials are fabu! 1/2 off nice size appetizers and drinks. Great value and really good food! Also Wednesdays they offer 1/2 ANY bottle of wine! Love the staff, love their commitment to the community and location in Mizner Park!

I recently had dinner at the Boca Raton location for the first time. The experience was truly amazing. The food was delicious and the ambience and decor was inviting. However, the best part of the entire experience was our service. They were welcoming, friendly, and professional. I felt so special! Thank you for a wonderful, rare, night out with my Husband.

**UPDATE*** A good restaurant manager knows the importance of reading these reviews. And it appears that that is what the manager of Truluck did. The day after we ate there and posted this review here and at other sites, the manager called to further inquire about our disappointment with the meal. He asked why we didn't speak to any of the managers there that night. I said we didn't because we were having a nice time celebrating a birthday and did not want to sour it by complaining about mediocre food. He understood. He then credited my credit card for the entire meal AND to top it off, he sent an absolutely delicious - and very chocolate - cake to our home. It was classy and the sign of a manager who knows how to run a top notch restaurant. Now they just need to work on their chef.... ********** What a disappointment. I made a reservation here for my boyfriend's birthday. While the atmosphere and service was flawless and very rich, the food was just not good. We started with a crab cake that was bland and too chewy in its texture. My trout amanadine ($26) with a lemon butter caper sauce over parmesan mashed potatoes was eh. It was a nice size piece of fresh trout, but to quote my boyfriend, it tasted like "shake and bake," not the almond crust as described on the menu. There wasn't enough sauce on the plate to really get a taste for it. And if the mashed potates had parmesan in them, I just didn't taste it. The Idaho instant mashed potatoes we make at home out of a box had more flavor. My boyfriend ordered the scottish salmon bernaise ($33). The size of the salmon was less than impressive. He said salmon was bland and the bernaise sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. We appreciated the gesture of them sending over a scoop of melted ice cream sandwiched by two chocolate chip cookies for his birthday, but even that wasn't good - and it was free! The cookies were hard as a rock. Thanks but no thanks. None of the food was worth it for the price. If you want to pay top dollar to be seen eating here and you don't care what the food tastes like, than this may be your kind of place. But we definitely won't be back nor will we recommend Truluck's to anyone who wants a flavorful, truly delicious meal.

What was once my favorite restaurant in Mizner has now become my absolute least. In the nearly five years that I've dined at Truluck's I've come to know that good service is not to be expected. What always brought me back was the quality of food albeit highly priced, the outside dining and the live entertainment. This time there was a discernable improvement in the service by Ed but the meal was a serious disappointment. We selected Truluck's because of their Monday night special of all-you-can-eat stone crabs. Two of us ordered the lobster bisque which arrived luke warm. We were able to catch the waiter's attention and a hotter replacement arrived fairly quickly. The flavor was just okay and had clearly been watered down to keep it from thickening. The salad was the top part of a head of romaine which had a bitter taste. The mashed potatoes bordered on cool not even room temperature. The mediorcre tasting stone crabs were plentiful but very small making it a challenge to get to the meat. At first bite the macaroni and cheese was very bland and then somehow developed an aftertaste of sage. I was raised in the restaurant business and dine out at least 4 nights a week. We have an incredible array of dining choices in Boca so the competition among restaurants is fierce with no room for subpar establishments. Truluck's let me know when you up your game.

Excellent menu and wine list. My wife and I both ordered from the $39 date menu, a salad (Sonoma greens), the Idaho trout, and carrot cake - all fantastic. You will not be dissapointed here!

Very good service, very good food. A little pricey but worth it for special occasions. Great fresh seafood and the deserts are outrageously good. Check it out if your looking for $50+ per person plus drinks.

The staff is very nice and accommodating, the bar--complete with live piano player--is fascinating with lots of pretty people. I'm fairly certain the guy I was talking to was a Mafia underling (he claimed to work in the auto glass industry). Food was fair. I ordered a ceasar salad, which had little or no taste, and domestic parmesan. Then, got a couple of appetizers. Stone crab claws were also tasteless, nowhere near as good as Joe's. The macaroni-and-cheese with king crab sounded better than it looked and tasted. It was kind of gross. Also got a side of sauteed mushrooms, which arrived burned. I'd drive 50 miles to Joe's rather than go across the street to this overpriced place.

Overpriced even for mizner park, but the grouper and trout were phenomenal.

Meal: Dinner Date: November 21, 2012 Time: 8:00 pm Party: 5 Special considerations: Non-locals on vacation Pros: - The food was very good - well seasoned and attractively presented. - Very good selection of dishes, sides, and drinks. - Decor was classy but not overdone. The furniture was in good condition. - The service at the table was very friendly, and bus staff members were present but not intrusive. - Specials were discussed in detail. - The live music wasn't bad at all. - Great deal on wine the evening we were there: 50% off all bottles. - Prices were high for Boca but didn't seem so out of line to someone who is used to paying for things in New York... - The restaurant called us the next day to find out if we had enjoyed our meal. It might be better in the future to complete this communication by email. Cons: - We were a party of five and were initially seated at a booth that could only accommodate four people or less. There was no question we had to move. We got some attitude from the hostess when we asked to be reseated. Instead of telling us that the party whose table we were supposed to sit at hadn't left yet, it would have been better if you'd had us wait a few minutes up front. - Very difficult to find parking. The adjacent parking garage is not big enough to handle all the businesses it was built to serve. - The menu didn't indicate foods which would meet special dietary needs (vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, nuts, etc.). - The stone crabs, while tasty, were pre-cracked making them take a long time to eat. Customers should be given the option to self-crack. - Dessert portions were inhumanly large... to the point that they looked unappetizing. This is the kind of restaurant where people will want to order dessert, especially if it's a special occasion, but dessert should not be a quarter of a cake or come with a slicer to the table. Would return? YES. Would recommend? MAYBE.

The bar staff was more interested in talking to each other - they were laughing so at least they had fun -the place / layout nice they served the smallest chicken wings I have ever seen as a appertizer it was all ok nothing compared to the competition you could walk to try chops down the street

Fresh from my flight, we were the last ones seated for dinner. I ordered my birthday lobster which since it is the end of the day, the waitress said there were only 2-3 Lbs left in the tank. I relented and was served the largest crustacean ever on my plate. Now I have watched Julia Child. The larger the lobster, the longer it cooks, the harder it is to keep it from getting tough. They didn't heed this advice and the meat was not as tender as a smaller lobster. I dipped it in drawn butter and squeezed lemon. It's kind of like pizza, you don't want to waste a good thing but I would take my lobster $$ elsewhere. D ordered the Red Snapper with rice and it was excellent so it shows that you have to experiment to find "the one" for you.

Loved it- food was excellent. We always go to Joes Stone Crab but wanted a different menu and it was great. The dip here was alittle better too. The waitress was fantastic and the manager greeted us at the table 2x.

Great restaurant in Mizner Park - amazing service, can't do enough for you. Gets crowded in season or on weekends - need reservations or prepare to wait. Lobster Tail was huge and very sweet, fresh. Jalapeno Salmon was also good. Of course, stone crabs in season are great and pricey - but can order individually as appetizers or a side dish. Big lounge area with fabulous LIVE music every time I have been in. Manager is readily present and walking the floor - higher end prices, but worth it for a good evening out. Try the chocolate "bag" dessert that stands up on the plate with angel food cake filling and berries. They crack it open table-side and pour warm fudge down the middle - WOW! Another neat thing to try is their wine and champagne flights - impressive selection by the glass and bottle. Give it a try, but call ahead for seating.

I had heard sparkling reviews about Truluck's and I was really excited to try it out. As a Floridian I've grown up around seafood and when you hear about really good seafood from other Floridians it's usually a pretty good spot. We were fortunate enough to walk-in on a weekend without a reservation and after a short wait we were seated at a booth. Our appetizers were soups and they were mediocre at best. I had been craving shrimp all week and when I saw it one the menu it looked perfect! When the shrimp came I took one bite and was overwhelmed with the smell of ammonia. Yes, ammonia. Don't ask me how it got there or why, I couldn't say. Normally, I would have set that shrimp to the side and eaten the rest... but they all smelled like ammonia. I'm not one to send my food back but when my food reminds me of cleaning fluid I'm going to say something. We called the server over who was very nice and she, in turn, called over the General Manager. He promptly scooped up my plate and whisked it away to the kitchen, not so discreetly rolling his eyes. He came back later and said, "I'm sorry you didn't like our food but there was nothing wrong with our shrimp." Wow. Talk about customer service, and this was someone from their headquarters in Texas. Our server (exceptionally nice) told us later that when the food was brought back to the kitchen they smelled it and admittedly there was something very wrong with it. it's unfortunate that someone in charge ruined a dining experience that could have easily been fixed. Just refire another order, as a customer I don't want to be talked down to and told that it's my issue that my food is bad. I won't be going back to that location any time soon.

OK, bring money as it is pricey AND well worth every penny. If fish, seafood is what you want, you'll not find it any better in Boca. Don't forget the Bar scene and the appetizers as a great way to cut your costs and still have a great meal. Service and attention to detail is always top notch.

I was impressed with the wide liquor selection at the bar, especially the selection of scotches and vodkas. I ordered mostly appetizers, which were excellent, but I agree with the first reviewer. Not an incredibly distinctive dining experience, but good atmosphere, good service, and good food.

Truluck's is an upscale chain new to the area. They specialize in seafood but offer steak, crabs and other options. Very enjoyable meal. Good service and good food. Nice size bar area. I wouldn't call it a distinctive dining experience, but more solid and reliable. That's not a bad thing!

My boyfriend and I have been to Truluck's many times and used to love it, but last night we approach the host (a fat , bold guy with glasses) and he said the waiting was 45 minutes, we walked around the restaurant and there were over 20 empty tables! I do not know what was wrong with the guy, but they lost $200 on us... We headed to 32 east in Delray and they appreciate our business. Will never go back to this racist spot... Bad custmer service.

The Ruth's Chris of Seafood. Exceptional atmosphere, fantastic fish, lots of fresh hard-to-find like Florida Stone crabs of size (seasonal) and fresh Alaskan King Crab legs (seasonal). You know why they pay those guys in the rough seas the big $$$ for the king crab legs... Outstanding. Service has been good to excellent, and, if you're not a seafood lover, they still make some of the best steaks in the area, although Ruth's has them on that one.
